I'm filling out my federal return info online and am currently on the Earned Income section. My husband and I made less than 38,000 last year and have two kids ages 1 and 3 and lived in the US for all of 2006 (U.S. military overseas). But, it says we do not have any qualifying dependents for the EIC. We've qualified for the EIC in the past, why not this year?

Unless you had more than $2800 in investment income, or are filing separately, then it sounds like something is wrong with something you entered since you should qualify. Take a close look at everything you've entered.

Having investment income over $2800, or filing as married filing separately, would disqualify you from getting the EIC.

Dont use H&R block, that is your problem right there. They told me I owed $200, then I went to a CPA and I got back $800

U need to write your kids name in and their SSN
Your husband needs to file on you and the children, he may get more back.
