God can and will destroy Satan. but serious issues were raised by Satan
1)the righteousness and rightfulness of Jehovah's sovereignty. Was Jehovah withholding from mankind freedom that would contribute to their happiness? Were mankind's ability to govern their affairs successfully and their continued life truly dependent on their obedience to god? Had Jehovah been dishonest in giving a law that stated that disobedience would lead to their death?(Gen.2:16,17; 3:3-5)So did Jehovah really have the right to rule?2)The integrity of intelligent creatures toward Jehovah. By the deflection of Adam and Eve the question was raised:Did Jehovah's servants really obey him out of love or might all of them abandon God and follow the lead being given by Satan? This latter issue was further developed by Satan in the days of Job.(gen.3:6;Job 1:8-11;2:3-5 see also Luke 22:31)These issues could not be settled by m merely executing the rebels.

Satan cannot be destroyed by love any more than you or i can. He is an entity all his own, and is not merely a fictional book character.
Part of the "test" that we as humans have on earth is to be tested so that we can prove ourselves worthy to live in God's presence in the next life. The only way that we can have the opportunity to do that is if we have the temptation to do wrong, which can only come from satan. The short answer is that it would ruin God's plan for us if Satan were to just dissapear.

God can even destroy all those who dont obey HIM. but He doesnt do it coz He wants to test His creation whether they obey Him or not... So is the case with satan.. he is also a creation of God and he (satan) promised God to mislead the human beings to disobeying of God.... And God told satan whoever will be a true follower a God will not follow satan's path..

You are assuming God has characteristics of "love and compassion". I wonder where you got that. God told you? A book claims it? God need not destroy a fictional character created by man.

In my opinion, if God destroyed Satan God would no longer exist. Good and evil coincide with one another, therefore if God does destroy Satan, there would no longer be a need for the "good" parts to exist. Life would become null and void.

Well i don't believe in the god or satan, but in nature there needs to be balance. Yin and Yang. How can anyone appreciate the good without knowing what bad is?

Hmm...destroying Satan...destroying...DESTROYING!!! Doesn't sound too "loving and compassionate" to me...maybe that's why.
Or, maybe God doesn't destroy Satan because Satan doesn't exist. Or maybe God doesn't exist.
Personally, I don't believe in Satan (a Christian concept), but I do believe in God (a universal concept). Therefore, it would be impossible for my God to kill your Satan, if I don't recognize Satan as existing.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.
