Others have given you the correct info on polishing the disk from the hole outward toward the rim. I'd like to suggest that you purchase a small can of a brass cleaning polish called "Brasso" and use that on the disc. Rub it in well (from the hole outward) with a clean soft cloth like an old tee shirt, and then take a clean section of the cloth and polish the disc the same way until the disc is shiny. Often that will do the job for you. Good luck.

You can buy a CD cleaning/repair kit which consists of a motorised cleaner, cleaning fluid and a polymer for reparing scratches etc. Its the only sure way.

You can put peanut butter on the scratch then get a soft rag and gently rub it till its all off. That should work. My hubby does this with his ps2 games, works every time!

i have tried this, toothpaste and ear cleaners
put toothpaste on the cd, and use the ear cleaners to clean the disk
remember: go from the inside to out straight across...
the toothpaste is supposed to 'polish' the disk, it worked in polishing it, but my disk has been through a lot...
it's worked with my friends disk, he told me
