sorry....I always had the same problem.
I use Neutrogena Deep clean products or any product with stylica. The stronger ones for acne with benz proxide were too strong and made me dry, then I broke out worse. I cleanse and use a moistureizer. Yep, believe it or not the right moisturizer helped, a light non oil. At GNC health store I got Stivectin eye cream, I use a little over the whole face. It's about $60 a tube, but helped the blothches and scars after 2-3 weeks. Use just a little, more doesn't work any faster or a non fragrance non-oil moisturizer.
The moisturizer keeps the stuff during the day from getting into your pores. If you clear up, and the see dry patches, they are a warning, you will break out from too--dry.
Makeup with talc was a bad breakout for me. I started just using a mineral blush or a powder with water type application example Loreal or Almay. I stayed away from Cover Girl, it made it worse.
Don't touch your face, that's the worse thing. If you scratch in your sleep, wear socks on your hands. Change your pillow case every night.
If your hair is oily, wash often, or wash one day rinse the next.
Try a clean out diet until you get it under control.
Lots and lots of water, tuna in water once a day. No fried stuff, easy on chocolate and sweets, (only dark choc in limited amt) If you like it green tea cleans out the toxins.
Damp Chamomile tea bags calm irritated spots on the face, and a cup at night will be good for you.
What you eat has a lot to do with your skin.
If you use a facial mask be careful not to let it dry too much and clog the pores. Keep hair products from getting on your face. Rinse everything well off your face. Stay away from fragrances on your skin.
Hope the tips help. It takes about a month to get it under control.
It only works if you get daily routine, about a half hour each night.
Go to sleep without doing the routine, and you breakout and have to start all over. It has to be every night or it wont work.
good luck
I forgot, if you have a humidifier in your bedroom at night it helps too.

I think there are antibiotics you can get from your doctor. Don't obsess, as stress doesn't help and don't keep touching your face. Good diet, water etc and tea tree oil is supposed to be good.
I know from experience that stress and touching etc can make them worse and I have read things to suggest this. If you are a teenager, you will probably just have to wait it out, but certain things can help.

Birth control is the only thing that gives me a clear face unless you are bad enough to use Acutane in which case you should see a Dermatologist and ask for it. That stuff works.

The former poster is incorrect. Pimples are caused by hormones, and they are something you aren't in control of. Just make sure to keep your face clean and dry
