Openly challenging God would mean you believe in Him, so many I am sure will reply "You can't debate with something that does not exist, lest you are debating with yourself".

However, though Job debated with God, one must read Job to see how he did so.

Debate with God is a STICKY subject, for believers may question God to a degree, but we must be sure our debate is not truly TESTING God. For then it is sin.

As for asking Him questions, stating to Him what we believe, asking Him to show us if we are wrong. Then yes, we most all do that believe in Him. However we do not TEST Him to prove Himself to us unless we do not believe. God actually accepts open debate from His children, but only in a certain context.

I'd love to, but I am already involved in a rather complicated debate with Santa Claus regarding the necessity (or lack thereof) of chimneys.
