Both have very valid points and both are flawed. They are both Theories. Key word there, Theories. Because they can not be proven, what is the point? I'm right your wrong, big whup. Why don't we just whip them out and compare sizes, thats what it all boils down to.

Many times, yes... other times very sad.....btw... Those of The True Christian Faith do not believe in a "theory" about God... I know, with absolute certainty, as dose every one of The True Christian Faith, that God dose Truly exist.... I will not try to "prove" it to you....and I will not try to disprove The "Theory" of evolution....in fat I accept it as a valid tool for further scientific study.... but it is a "theory" and can never be proven by the scientific method.... The Fact of God can only be proven by God...so I do not try... I just know what I know to be an absolute.... God IS.

True they're both theories, and while Nicholas H has a point that evolution is a scientific theory, where are creationism is only a theory with almost no way of proving to be true, he fails to mention that creationism is a theory based on faith.

The purpose of religious theory is to state that something happened. You believe it or you don't. You're right or you're wrong. There is no need for proof in a religious theory, and what some may believe to be true may not hold any significance for others.

And as for your question, I believe that the the constant argument over them is laughable, but only because people who argue are generally not open to the each others' view points.

Ok, I'm going to help you understand this. Evolution is a theory in the scientific sense, which is far, far more strong than the way "theory" is used in common vernacular English. A scientific theory is something that IS proven, multiple times. It is testable, repeatable, observable, has mountains of evidence, is correct and explanable 100% of the time, and so on.

In case you didn't realize, GRAVITY is also just a "theory" and it is true 100% of the time, is predictable and so on. Of course christians are always welcome to not believe in that if they wish.

Then there's also Stress "Theory" which we need for buildings, planes, cars, bridges, dams and pretty much every engineering marvel. If Stress theory weren't true or consistent 100% of the time, well there would be amazing death tolls from randomly and unpredictably collapsing buildings/bridges. Good thing scientific theories are true 100% of the time, eh?

Then there's Quantum "Theory" which is what gave us computers and cell phones. Computers exist because scientific theory is true 100% of the time.

If a theory is ever inconsistent even once the theory is revised and changed to accommodate new data.

Creationism is not a scientific theory as it has no evidence, it is not observable, not testable, not repeatable. There is absolutely no evidence for it (indeed it is contradicted by every piece of evidence discovered). Creationism exists only in one book written by men thousands of years ago back when symbolic literature and mythology were at their most popular. It is no more or less valid or provable than any of the other creation stories (such as the Greek gods).

The argument is laughable because one side is trying to pass faith off as science. It is not about comparing penis size, but about making sure reason prevails over myth and superstition, that fact overcomes symbolic literature.

Less than theories. Theories can be falsified. That is part of the definition of theory. Our origin cannot really be falsified. That knocks both down to speculation or a hypothesis. Obviously it doesn't matter how many times you can't artificially create life. Since they can claim conditions were different and so it can't be done in a lab now. Therefore it is unfalsifiable and that means it is not a scientific theory. It is just as valid of speculation as creationism. Hey, at least we can call it for what it is. I believe creationism is a more logical hypothesis personally, even if you only believe in an impersonal God.

With you on this one.
Both sides could take a lesson from Sherlock Holmes:
"When you dismiss the impossible, whatever you have left, however improbable, is the answer"

They both hold on to the impossible because they are both religions. At least creationists are up front about that.

We need a web site with just the unbiased facts so that someone with more intelligence than the status quo can actually come up with a theory that is plausible and fits the geological record.

No, they don't both have valid points and anyone who thinks that is laughable, frankly.

As science, Creationism is utter rubbish.

You obviously don't understand the definition of "theory" in a scientific context. Score one for the Creationists. Confusing you on that subject is a page out of their playbook.

arguments...yes. Valid discussions of different points of views and ideas...no, but I don't think the latter of the two happens all that often. I am not saying never, I just have yet to come across a discussion that is just that, a discussion.

You don't understand that the word "theory" doesn't mean a guess or "something that can't be proven" when used in the context of science

I'm sorry, what's the valid point for creationism? This here book says so? There's a difference between an informed opinion and an uninformed opinion.

Creationism is the only true theory. You may not believe it, but it is real. God created the universe. Genesis 1:1. If you don't believe in God, then how can you have any hope in life. Do you believe when you die, you will just stop living FOREVER. You have to go somewhere. Either heaven or hell. If you put all your faith and trust in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, then you will be able to spend an eternity in heaven with God. If not, then you will spend an eternity in Hell burning forever. The choice is yours.
