Being a vegetarian does nothing for the environment. I don't know why you wasted our time with that one. Start with replacing all the bulbs in your home with fluorescent bulbs that use less electricity. dispose of all your appliances and buy newer more energy efficient ones. That should include your heating and cooling system, and your plumbing. Limit the amount of time you spend in your daily life wasting electricity. Electricity burns resources, which in turn causes pollution. And you probably live in a place where everyone is as environmentally conscientious as yourself. Move. Find a place where you are the lone nut-job hippie freak and charm your way into your new community and teach them how important the environment is. Be politically active and support candidates with realistic environmental programs. Extremist organizations only serve to make change more frightening. A smaller step in the right direction is better than none at all.

The first thing we can do is to adopt such a way of life that does not damage the environment. Secondly one should try to inculcate this tendency in his/her neighbourhood. Once the society at large understands the significance and necessity of the matter, it will slowly but definitely change itself. More and more Associations/ NGO's / Societies like Greenpeace be formed and their activities spread to all corners of the Earth. Cooperation, coordination and dedication from each and every environment loving friend is required to achieve meaningful success.

It is sad to think of a day when the earth stopped revolvoing on axis because it died. I am an Environmental Health Scence major in my senior year and the one thing the world needs to do is recycle, re-use, and conserve natural resources.

Greenpeace is for wimps. If you're REALLY extreme about the environment you'll wanna join ELF (earth liberation front), and not some hippy boat chasers.

Get practical. Cut down on the usage of utilities when not required, become educated of methods that lessen the strain on the environment and give your friends energy-saving lightbulbs for their birthdays.

stop recycling. In most cases it take more energy and resources to recycle something than just throw it out.
