i'm really interested in getting some tattoos. i think it will definitely be worth the pain. i was thinking of getting something on my wrists. i have really thin wrists & so i'm a bit nervous about it. i don't have a very high tolerance for pain. i have a few piercings & i can handle that but i'm just wondering if it would be much of a problem if i have bony wrists. that's kind of a strange question, i know. does anyone think this would be a problem?

If you have never gotten a tattoo before don't get them on your wrists.Believe it or not there WILL come a time when you won't want someone to know you're tattooed. The outside of your upper arm would proably be a better spot for a first tattoo. Depending on what style of tattoo you get.......you could always extend it down the arm to your wrist as a sleeve later. But more importantly DON'T let just anybody tattoo you. I suggest you do a little research first. The best way to get at good tattoo is to go on the Internet and search for tattoo conventions. I promise you there will be something within traveling distance of you. Go to the conventions website and find the lists of artists coming to the convention and check out each one.(Just because they're at the convention doesn't guarantee that they're any good). If they are reputable and good they will have a web page. Look each of them, compare them and make a list ranking them. Contact your #1 choice by e-mail and if they have some times open you can get your tattoo done by someone that is an ARTIST. If not go down the list to #2. Be prepared to pay a little more than you would in a shop. Most of these guys work for an hourly rate (usually from $100 to $200 dollars an hour). Most important.....be patient....be willing to wait for the perfect person to give you the perfect tattoo. If you are going to get tattooed be selective. If tattoo is art then aim for a Picasso or Van Gogh. Don't settle for an Elvis on Black Velvet

I have a star tattooed on my inner left wrist and everyone loves it. I have very small, bony wrists so I thought it was gonna hurt, but I didn't feel it at all. Good thing about wrist tattoos is they are easy to cover up by wearing a watch if the tat is small enough. I work in an office and have 3 tats that show and no says anything about them, if anything, i get compliments all day. The only problem I had when getting the tat is I couldn't watch the needle going in and out of my skin, but other than that, didn't feel a thing. I think it would be a great idea, as long as your comfortable having it there for the rest of your life. Half the time i forget i have mine.

I just got a wrist tattoo and it wasn't THAT painful, I hae a number of other tattoo's and it definitely wasn't the worst pain. One good thing I can tell you is, it's a good place for your first tattoo,it's not too painful, but it will definitely get you prepared if you want a second tattoo somewhere else, and it does sort of go numb after a few minutes of tattooing. Since your getting an inner wrist one, chances are the tattoo will be done in the matter of 15-20minutes. I'm not going to lie to you, it does hurt..but it is definitely worth it if it's something you want and the pain really ISN'T that bad. And the pain compared to a broken arm/finger. They are 2 different types of pain completely. Good luck.

I have bony wrists as well and I have 3 stars on my wrist. I had gotten another one on my back and I actually thought that that one hurt more. I am the biggest baby when it comes to pain. I am not going to lie no tattoo feels good but I definately didn't think that it was so bad that I would tell people not to do it. If it's something you want, go for it.

there is usually pain associated with tattoos how much does depend on where and how tolerant you are but i would not suggest getting a wrist tattoo as a first tattoo. many people get their first tattoo and then decide they don't like it, or just being tattooed in general. the wrist is a very out there place to have ink. i have thought about it before and i considered getting wrist tattoos but i now realize that it isn't a decision i will be making anytime soo. i'll wait until i am atleast 30 to get a tattoo on my arms. that's 5 more years of thinking. everybody sees your wrists. and many people who see tattoos make snap judgements on the person who has them regardless of who they really are.

Ur bony wrist won't give u a problem at all. just that i recommend u to talk to the person who will make the tattoo so he can tell u what to do with the pain. I have a tatoo on my wrist and by hand is all bony so don't worry about that.

My best friend has one on the inside of her wrist and that one hurt her the most. She has 19. My tattoo place won't do tattoos on the inside of the wrist. Pain with tattoos depends on where it is. I have one that covers the entire back of my leg and goes down and wraps around my ancle. Parts of it I didn't really feel and other places felt like he was ripping the skin off my leg. The one on the top of my foot hurt so bad I almost walked out with it less than half done. My breast cancer ribbon didn't hurt at all. I suggest getting one somewhere concealable first. As my friend put it, once you put a tattoo in a public place, you've announced yourself publicly as a freak. It's now your lifestyle and you can't change it. All of mine are hide-able. It's ultimately your choice. I want symbols on my wrists, but my career comes first.

I have many tatts and none of them really hurt. The main thing to do is to relax and go into your 'special place'. Getting a tat is al about the journey. Plus, you can always get a freezing patch first if your tolerance for pain is really low.
