I'm actually an international student in the US on a student visa and I got expelled from a college more than two years ago. I transfered to a university where I only studied English for a semester - I needed to improve my English!!! After that I transferred to a two-year community college where I'm currently studying.

My grades at the community college are great and I'm actually in the president's list which is a huge success since I was expelled. Now I want to transfer to a four-year school so that I can get a Bachelor's degree. Now's the time for the application process; however, one of the questions in the applications is whether I've been expelled. I don't know what to put for that question - the truth or lie???

My concern is if I list that I've been expelled the admission officers might not give me an admission? What can you suggest? Should I do that?

I also want not to mention at all that I've studied in my initial school but I guess there's a record of everything!HELP

BE HONEST! Lying on an application for admittance is grounds for expulsion, and given your grades and history since you were expelled, you'll probably be questioned about it, but honesty and what you've done lately will be most important to an admission councilor

It depends what you got expelled for. Did you cheat? If you did it might hurt your chances. If you did something benevolent, it might not.
