I want to get a bed that my boys can share since they sleep better together. If we put them in their own beds they both end up making their way to our bed in the night. If we put them both in one twin bed they usually sleep their through the night. Do you think a full size bed is big enough for 2 young boys to share or should I opt for a queen. I just want them to have room to play and put their other furniture. Do your kids share a bed?

Why not stick TWO twin beds together and let them share a bed that way and when they get older, just pull the beds apart.

My sister and I had to share a bed when we'd travel and I hated it.

I was about nine when when I put my foot down and said no more.

Just be aware of your sons' temperments. Some kids don't mind and will go along with the sharing for years. Others will really hate it sooner than others.

Respect your kid's wishes.

My boys have bunk beds with a larger futon type bottom bunk (about the size of a double bed). They always end up in the bottom bunk together. I don't see anything wrong with sharing a bed. They are young kids and sometimes get afraid of the dark and feel more secure together. I think a full size bed would be plenty of room for two young boys. As they grow older they will let you know when they are ready for their own bed.

When i first left my husband ....alll we had was one full sized bed, my kids were 6 and 3 - so we all fit quite nicely....a few paychecks full of overtime $ later and i bought a small futon for the three yr. old and a large futon as a LR couch....so we all slept separately for a little while....then the little one saw a scary thing on TV (it was animated, it wasnt supposed to be scary...but HE thought it was scary!) and he was back in bed with his sister! They are older now and we have room for them to have their own bedrooms and beds but we all dont have the luxury of a bed for each kid all the time.....sleeping together made them feel safe...and of course i NEEDED to get my sleep if i wanted to keep up the overtime! If it works for your family thats good enough!

My children have their own beds. They either end up in mine or each others with the other person. I think a full would be OK but a queen would give them some space and possibly get them sleeping "alone". Good luck (and if it works... let me know.. lol)

My two girls shared a double bed until we moved recently. It had more than enough room for them. Now that they have their own room, the little one still goes in to her sisters room when she wakes up at night. When we were younger my sister and i shared a double as well. Lots of room, i wouldn't go to a queen.

I think that each should have their own sleeping space. I like the idea of bunk beds vs a double bed because when they reach their teens.....well, they wont like sleeping together anymore. They will outgrow this before the mattress wears out.

I think that you should get 2 twin beds and push them together for the time being. I doubt that this need to sleep together will or should last very long.

It's perfectly fine to share a bed with anyone in your family.

a full size bed should be enough, but here's some other ideas to save space:
you could make a loft platform with a siderail, or get a trundle bed.
the loft would save the most space though. make it at least 3.5feet from the ceiling, lower if you can.
