i have been in the cleaning business for years now, and have had lots of experience in this area. i have kids of my own that like to draw on the walls. the best way to remove it, is by using a hair dryer to heat it, and then simply taking a damp cloth with warm water and wiping it off. don't hold the hair dryer too close to the wall, especially if they are painted walls. hold it away from the wall about 2 inches. you don't need to hold it there long, just enough to heat the wax so it is warm....not hot. it will wipe right off.
good luck!!!

I have a hard time understanding the people whom answere with such violence....TRy TOOTHpaste ...I've heard it works.. I use a MR CLEAN magic eraser on everything... I should own stock in this company as I buy enough of them But they are FABULOUS!!!! I would talk to the children about coloring on the walls ....but kids are kids!!!! Maybe paint one wall in the house with the paint you can use chalk on and then your crayon problem would go away.... Good Luck!!!

A magic eraser, or a cheaper alternative would be a regular sponge that has an abrasive side. You'll need a little elbow grease but it should come right out. Even a hard scrub with a paper towel will eventually get it off, it is just harder.

I have two solutions that I know work:
The Mr. Clean magic eraser gets crayon off walls.
Oil Eater cleaning spray also removes crayon from SEVERAL surfaces.

my two cents worth says, turpentine,or white spirit, apply sparingly as it is a paint remover/cleaner, apply with cotton bud/paint brush for direct application and remove with cold water, then cold soapy water to clean and remove grease then rinse.
using this method will damage you paint work but not a lot just a little, it will appear fairer/lighter in colour than the rest of the wall. good way to remedy this is clean the rest of the wall.

Wet the hair of the offending youngsters and then rub their heads vigorously on the wall until the marks disappear. This will usually take a LONG time but will have the added bonus of no more marks appearing :-)
