alright so when we first met he told me he loved me. i didnt really believe it then but he kept insisting that he did. we've been together for about 6 months in an on again off again relationship. he still says he luvs me but i still dont believe him cuz of half the stuff he does.

The word "Love" has power. The more you use it, the less power it has.
This guy seems to use it a lot, so ignore it and judge him by his actions.
If "half the stuff he does" is gross, that will make you a better judge than anything he says at this point.

He seems like he will say anything to keep you around without accepting the consequences of the words "i love you." Honestly, that would scare the hell out of me if a guy told me he loved me on the first date. It would tell me he's had a bad run with women or hes truly desperate for someone to love him. Then again... maybe he does love ya.

Well sounds like he didn't really but it's quite possible. Consider the fact that this guy could have liked you before you guys went out and fell in love with you before the relationship. When you take that time in account, it could be months before he had developed that love so there's nothing suspicious about it.

well maybe he thought it was love at first sight or hes just tryin to get sum if you know what i mean. and you would have to say what he does to be able to tell sorry.

well it is possible. i think i love my boyfriend, i thought i loved him when we were just friends too, but it really matters on the person. if hes a very gushy person then saying i love you is like breathing, if hes more shy and discrete then he would probably mean it.

be careful, he may or may not love you. he may be trying to have sex with you. he may not want a relationship. then again, he may love you. actions speak louder than words. be very cautious.

what you're doing is right - DON'T believe him - if he's doing shady things but telling you he "loves you" - it's full of crap - you know he's just wanting something "else" - don't give in
