Yes,they killl nutrients in the soil.Thye damage the ecosystem.Certain crops may only be grown with certain pesticides,for example,corn may be able to grow using a certain pesticide,but soybean cannot be grown in that soil because the pesticide kills soybean also.So the only thing you will be able to grow on that land now is corn.And the pests who aren't affected by the pesticide thrive because they're competiton has been eliminated.that is why you have to rotate crops each year,one pest may be able to eat soybean,but next year if you grow corn then the pest will be eliminated,so their is no need for pesticide use.Pesticides just rape the soil of it's nutrients and are harmful to the enviroment.

Actually they are designed to allow better growth of plants, by preventing the attacks of pests.
They may be harmful to the ecosystem though.

I'm 55, and I agree. Why should alcohol and cigarettes, both of which have been PROVEN to be much more harmful than marijuana be legal, but we are so scared of pot? Wake up, people, it isn't the marijuana that is causing the problem...it is US!!
