Cost is not a major issue. Based on quality, which would you recommend?

My husband and I are in our 20s. He tosses and turns, generally ending up on his stomach. I sleep on my side, but typically switch sides a couple of times due to shoulder pain. I also have chronic lower back pain.

I've been leaning toward a Sleep Number bed, and I've checked them out at the store. Commercials for the Tempur-Pedic bed look good too, but I've never seen/felt one. Any pros and cons?

Tempur-Pedic, I have one and it's awesome!! My friend and Mom have sleep number beds and aren't very happy. Try them both out then decide. My husband won't sleep on anything but our Tempur-pedic. (We bought a generic king sized one online for 999.00 included shipping & taxes)

My husband and I have been thinking about these two. I plan to watch the responses. For my husband's weight and my back and hip. I favor the Tempur Pedic, I hear great things about it and I DO have the pillow and totally love it. I'm so grateful I got it as a gift from my husband. It just SEEMS too hard and takes a bit of getting use to for what to do with my hands and how it feels and smells, but the smell faded and I got use to the feel. I hope when I get a Tempur Pedic mattress that my back will be thrilled with it.

I don't know about the Sleep Number bed. But I have a Tempur-Pedic bed and I love it. It is a rather firm bed that takes some getting used to. They tell you to give in 4 weeks for your body to adjust. That's about right. For a while I had a hard time getting used to it, but now I don't know how I lived without it. Lucky, if you can't get used to it, they give you a 90 money back guarantee

I never feel my husband moving and while I was pregnant I was never slept well and constantly got up. I never once disturbed him because of it.

When I travel and sleep in other beds I never get as good of a nights sleep as I do when I'm at hom

with the temper-Pedic you are gonna form to the matress for a while then it's gonna get use to your bosy weight and just sink around u when u lay down after while and it isn't comfy. (had 1) with the sleep number it just a bet with tmper pedic foam on the infid but u can both choise witch number is most comfortable to sleep at.

Because it sounds like you and your husband need different kinds of support, the sleep number would be best.
