How old is the guy? What does he like to do? Is he into video games, music, reading?
Is he likes video games - get him a video disc
If he is into music - get a CD
If he is into reading - get him a book/talking book
How long have you been dating? If you are serious, a nice bottle of cologne. Does he drive? Maybe something for his car (like a personalized name tag).

Well if you want to be romantic give him a bracelet with your name on it or a necklace with two heart halves and 2 chains one for you and one for him
