You know those Warts on your feet or your hand. Is that HPV too? You can have Cancer because of HPV virus?

There are over 100 different strains of HPV.
Plantar warts are caused by HPV, but by a completely different subtype than the ones that are responsible for cervical cancer.
Plantar warts are very common and do not increase your risk for any type of cancer.

As I understand it, plantar warts are only on your feet and are also caused by a virus, but a different one than HPV. HPV is a sexually transmitted virus, that men and women can get on their genitials...plus women can get this on their cervix also. It is believed that this can eventually cause cervical cancer, if left untreated. This is why women need to get a pap smear once a year.

Answers to your main questions. 1) Yes it sounds like the treatment is working normally. 2) There are many forms of HPV and once this is treated it is gone. You probably got this in a changing room or around a swimming pool for example, rather than your house or garage. Until it is treated keep it covered. Walk around in socks rather than barefoot to avoid infecting others. Once it is treated you can go barefoot again. Hope this helps.

I've never heard. I was of the understanding that HPV was related to vaginal warts.

It should also be added that there are very aggessive strands of HPV. So the term "left un-treated" can be misleading.
