they are just trying to cover up the fact they their teaching skills suck...pitty districts can't fire these idiots but who would replace them?
apparently a lot of people giving ratings are no talent useless teachers who cannot accept criticism. They do not want to be better. They just want to keep sucking at their job. Hell, there are third world countries out there beating the crap out of the US academically. Why? Our teachers sucks. Used to be prestigious to be a teacher, now its the major you chose when you can't spell, multiply or do anything else of use to society. It is consistently the lowest scoring major on standardized tests.

What I hate is parents that don't teach their children how to behave, sit quietly and listen when the teacher is trying to teach. If my children came home and told me the teacher was yelling, yes I would go down to the school to find out what happened and if I found out that one of my children deserved to be yelled at then his ears would get a second and third blasting from Dad and I. Too many parents think that it's the teachers job to parent. It's not!

No, I don't like Teachers yelling at students. I know it has to be stressful trying to teach a room full of kids but yelling can cause resentment with a child and in turn that child could rebel, not care anymore about their studies, etc. I just wonder how much yelling they do at their own children, if they have any.

Of course, a teacher shouldn't scream. That said, I think the hardest part of their job is discipline. I've got 2 kids and I've only seen one teacher who I thought got the balance right. They have to maintain order, teach their students how to behave and hold them to a high standard, while, at the same time, providing the kids with a nurturing, supportive environment. Kids learn best when they feel secure, capable and that their teacher likes them and thinks they are worthy people, even when that teacher is disciplining and correcting them.

Yes, my daughter had this problem in year 1 with a teacher, so I discussed the matter with the deputy, after proving to them that my daughter did not have "sensitive hearing" they did something about it, this teacher no longer yells and actually she is a great teacher... ... ... ...

I AGREE!!!!! lol (jk with the yelling)... sometime i wonder why some people become teachers... I don't yell at my daughter (well, ok if I am pms'ing then maybe once every couple of months)... The first teacher that yelled at my daughter, she was floored and upset. She was a little bit scared too... but I think it is good for the kids to learn about different authority types... prepares them for future bosses. But I don't have to like it!

When kids are younger, they are supposed to enjoy going to school and it is supposed to be fun. When kids dread getting up to go to school because of a mean teacher, it ruins all the fun!! Then they just get fed up and don't try any more because they know that no matter what they do or how hard they try, they're going to get yelled at. I hate when teachers behave like that. The have no right to yell at your child and boss him/her around..teachers are there to teach..not parent!! I totally agree with you.

My eldest daughter use to have some problems with a teacher from a foriegn country (I guess students are deaf in France). After it became clear to me that what we had was a 504 disability discrimination problem I had several conversations with the principal and his direct supervisor in administration. During the last conversation I made it clear that my attorney would be initiating any future correspondence. Since then this teacher has been choosing her words and tone very carefully. Smart move... My next step would have been to have every line item in her work visa scrutinized. Nobody screws with my kids.

yeah, my daughter experienced that. she was also sent out of the room for a reason that the teacher did not even clarify what happen with the three students involved.

i cried, i emailed the school president, and i had it discussed in the school office. i tell the teacher that i am afraid that if she is rude to the students, the students might hate the subject she's teaching,

she changed her attitude towards my daughter.

No, I do not have a problem with it, if they are an equal opportunity yell er. Our children will have to learn to deal with all types of personality's in their life time. Some people just speak louder then others and express themselves more. As long as there is no discrimination or abuse involved, I have no problem with it.
