I'm not sure what your question is, but learning how to calculate with an abacus is a great skill for school and for work.
I'm an ESL teacher in Japan. I once had a business student who could do cube roots in his head by visualizing an abacus. I can't do it with a calculator!
My son studied abacus for a while at a Kumon school here and it helped him in other subjects by giving him a certain mental discipline.
