3. You'll get a chance in basic training to create a "dream sheet"--base of preferences. You'll be able to update this list at anytime, as many times that you want, once you get to your permanment duty station, which happens after tech (technical school) (which is after basic training).
2. If you're going to school, then you might not need to sign a 6yr contract to get your E-3 status. If you have at least 45 (I believe) semester hours from an accredited college you can start as an E-3. (That's what I did.)
1. It isn't hard to join any service, but the Air Force is the most stringent. You need to talk to an Air Force recruiter. Just call, because he/she will ask you some preliminary questions. Those questions will determine if you are qualified (or not) to continue. Oh, and you shouldn't have to worry too much with those scores.
Last time I was a recruiter these were the minimum requirements (you may want to do it soon):
You need to be between the ages of 17-27 (possible age waiver).
Have no more than two dependents.
Pass the ASVAB test with a minimum AFQT Score of 36.
If you're close to a bachelor's degree, you might want to try for commissioning (as an officer).

1.) With your AFQT score like that they would take you, it isn't that hard to join the air force.
As for starting off as a(n) E3 after bootcamp, thats something i would want to ask a recruiter. And for you being stationed overseas, your chance are 50-50. at tech school, one flight class is solely for overseas and then the next flight class is for overseas. If you find someone that wants to trade with with you then you have a better chance, but it all depends.
Good Luck with Joining.

My Fiancee is in Tech school as we speak. Coming from everything he told me, it will be very possible to find love in the Air Force. But I honestly wouldn't recommend trying for anyone in Basic training... Only because A. You aren't allowed to really interact with the opposite sex, and B. There is a HUGE Chance you wont end up at the same Tech school... Tech school is a little different, while you are actually allowed to hang out and meet people at Tech school. Be prepared to be married to them after 3 months of dating, because again your chances of getting based at the same place is VERY SLIM. When you get to your first duty station... which is usually about 7 months after Week 0 of Basics then I would say it will be easier to find someone... Military love is hard, trust me I know. I fight the distance every day. But if you find someone worth it, go for it :)

You'll need to learn where to capitalize letters, and write in complete grammatically correct English sentences. No joke. It's called "Attention to Detail", which is all you'll hear in Basic Training (next to "clean, dry, and servicable"). Joining is easy. Getting through it well is harder. At 27, you will have a leg up, since you will be more mature than most of your counterparts, and this (probably) won't be your first time on your own, away from home. Your chances of getting an overseas tour is quite good, of course depending on the career you get. Again...good writing, high math scores, and ATTENTION TO DETAIL will get you far.

1) It should be no problem for a healthy high school graduate.
2) Every rank oin the air force is granted on merit, not handed out, like candy
3) Sedom, if ever will you get your way. The military places men where they are needed, regardless of whay your recruiter promised you when you signed on the dotted line.

1. it's not hard. you may not end up with the job you want but it's not hard to enlist.
2. you probably will not have to sign for 6 just to get e3
3. it's basically the luck of the draw. you can fill out of list of where you want to go. but basically they put you where they need you. i actually lucked out and got my 1st choice when i came in though so it is possible.
