lol the correct answer is:
YOU CAN'T. Religion isn't about which is right and which is wrong. It's something that can only be right to the beholder. So if ten people were in a room, there would be ten "correct" religions, because each person's religion IS correct to them. Arguing about which religion is correct is the same as arguing over which ice cream flavor is the best. It's different for everyone, because everyone likes different ice cream, and some don't like ice cream at all (that would be YOU, the Atheist, lol).
Blessed Be.

a) Try Pascal's Wager on why religion is an intelligent decision.
b) If you could prove religion, then the proof would be greater than the religion and become the religion which would need proof ad infinitum.
c) Add the author/reader/confirmer of the proof as variables.
Proof is for replicable acts over time and space. Religion does not carry proof, but faith.
When you have the people in your living room, see how they:
a) deal with your sins
b) invite you to interface with your neighbor
c) relate to the deity

Finding a religion is finding what you think makes the most sense to you. Do you need evidences for the existence of a Creator? Would you be satisfied with a highly philosophical view of the world? One that offers guidelines for your life, has explanation about the dynamics of the earth and relationship of people etc?
You need to do a lot of research yourself and start with thinking about what you need to know. Be sure that you read from good sources.
Do you think that if you get all the evidences, you will start believing or still be unsure and in doubt and question yourself ? What if the truth was in front of you, do you still think you would accept it or still doubt? You need to think about that.
You know i was a stubborn person and still am but i also used to be an atheist and i found in islam the evidences that I needed, it makes sense to me to believe in the last revelation of God, that has not been altered, that is beautiful and fits with my vision and principles of my life. I thought well, the more i learned about it the more scared i was because of the consequences and i was doubting a long time, then I said to myself, that's just me being stubborn and what if my stubborness gets me to HOT HOT terminal in the end of my life? I would be a big loser, but i know im better than that, so I embraced the religion and started to believe in God, a feeling that I had never had before, but the warm and tranquility I now feel in my heart is the best feeling of all !

By examining the religions and what they teach. Call it process of illumination but you need a guide to go by to know which is true and which is false.
And yes, the bible can help you. Its a book from our Creator. and is made up of 66 little books. The Greek word biblia, from which the word “Bible” comes, means “little books.” These books, or letters, were written over a period of 1,600 years, from 1513 B.C.E. to 98 C.E. Yet, because of having just one Author, all these Bible books are in harmony with one another. The greatest proof that the Bible really is from God is its perfect record in foretelling the future. No book by men accurately reports history before it happens; yet the Bible does. It is filled with accurate prophecies, actual history written in advance. Some of the most remarkable of these are regarding the coming to earth of God’s Son. The Hebrew Scriptures accurately foretold hundreds of years in advance that this Promised One would be born in Bethlehem, that he would be born of a virgin, that he would be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver, that he would be counted in with sinners, that not a bone of his body would be broken, that lots would be cast for his garments, and many, many more details.—Micah 5:2; Matthew 2:3-9; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:22, 23; Zechariah 11:12, 13; Matthew 27:3-5; Isaiah 53:12; Luke 22:37, 52; 23:32, 33; Psalm 34:20; John 19:36; Psalm 22:18; Matthew 27:35.. Who on earth can produce writtens so accurately another than the Almighty God.
Another prophecy written in advance: The prophet Isaiah lived when Assyria, the second world power, dominated the ancient world. Yet he was inspired by God to prophesy that Jerusalem would be destroyed, not by the then powerful Assyrians, but by the Babylonians. Please read Isaiah 39:6, 7 Did this prophecy prove true? It was a century after Isaiah’s time that Babylon and her allies conquered Assyria, and Babylon became the new world power. There are many more.
One scripture that is presently being fulfilled is 2Tim 3:1-5 look it up. Future fulfillment: Daniel 2:44, Psalms 37: 9,29.
A discovery of modern science is the degree to which mental attitude and emotions affect health and this close connection between mental attitude and physical health was long ago referred to in the Bible. For instance, it says: “A calm heart is the life of the fleshly organism, but jealousy is rottenness to the bones.”—Proverbs 14:30; 17:22.
Something else that identifies the Bible as coming from God is the honesty of its writers. It is contrary to imperfect human nature to admit mistakes or failures, especially in writing. Most ancient writers reported only their successes and virtues. Yet Moses wrote how he had “acted undutifully,” and so was disqualified from leading Israel into the Promised Land. Jonah told of his own waywardness. (Jonah 1:1-3; 4:1) Paul acknowledges his former wrongdoings. (Acts 22:19, 20; Titus 3:3) And Matthew, an apostle of Christ, reported that the apostles at times showed little faith, sought prominence and even abandoned Jesus at his arrest.
If Bible writers were going to falsify anything, would it not be unfavorable information about themselves? Facts hard to explain if the Bible were simply of human origin.
Space will not allow for all bible prophesies but its worth the effort to look into the bible and see what it contains. Doubts about the Bible’s reliability are usually based, not on what it says or upon sound evidence, but instead upon misinformation or ignorance. If you really examine what it says, and do not simply accept what certain ones claim that it says, you will find reason to trust it.
And yes, the bible will lead you to the religion that is true and correct.

The key to this problem I think is to have empathy for the people who claim adherence to any one philosophy . . . give them the credit for trying to become better human beings and looking for answers to the questions that most of us ask at one time or another. Next if you try to view the function of religion as a means to create better human beings, then it could be entirely possible that any given religion may be right for a particular person, since if it appeals to that persons better instincts and causes them to behave better and strive to become more compasionate and responsible, it is *true* for them. As an atheist, I assume you are a rationalist and probably dislike open ended answers like this, and prefer a yes-no answer. However religion is more like music than math . . . the truth is more in how it affects you and helps you to ground your life than whether it is literally true. As far as being in a room where all memebers of the various religions fight one another . . . first note that this is not limited to religious people and thus could very well be the nasty side of human nature in all of us that tries to force others to share our opinions because we feel insecurely sabout them ourselves. Such people may have a way to go in developing their compassion, but they may still genuinely care for others and may disagree simply because they have been taught, according to their dogma, that other people wil suffer dire consequences should they disbelieve. As for the books, like science books or language books they are guides at best. The real truth you have to find within yourself. If it doesn't bring peace of mind to you and doesn't help you to become more compassionate and loving, then maybe you would be best off with another religion, or no organized religion at all.

my mind is convinced that there is a God who made all the things i see , who created every single system in the universe , it has to be someone up there to make all this happen ........
. which religion is true depends on how much u know about this religion , & what i know about my religion is that there is one God not two or three ( if there were more than one , they could fight over something like a ship who has just one captain who decides where to go ) ,
i also know that the one who came with words of God couldn't have discovered many true things that proved to be right just lately ( alone he would never know that ) which means someone tell him what to say & what to do coz the job of the mesenger is to deliver Go'd words to people..
..also this messenger though many people understand him wrongly , he did many great things that most people don'y know about, only those who know are those who search very well through correct sources..he was wise , a very good leader , kind . respectable , i know all this through reading his biography ....
i also know my religion is true coz it encourages & support good deeds & morals in human souls , it supports peace , kindness , mercy , respect , & stand against bad characters as nudity & cheating & being drunk or mean or unrespectable

A religion can't be proven. A faith can be proven. The Bible says: Jesus saith unto him: I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 So if you can just grab ahold of Jesus being the true and only way, He will actually come and talk to you! Many times the Lord has talked with me, its really awesome that He would even take time to do that! He's made me promises that I KNOW He is going to keep! Because His Word says: So shall My Word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper whereunto the thing that I sent it. Isaiah 55:11

There has certainly been a sort of "coaching" over the centuries. whether, and that's an significant factor, the actual comprehend God has under no circumstances replaced. countless "church" policies and practices have been vastly replaced, warped, and altered to in shape the ruling powers targets. This regrettably reflects badly on God's real people. Take case in point, the catholics...for years, supported a sort of military campaigns and advised the slaughter of 1000's of individuals. for the period of WWII, the pope easily called Hitler the "great defender of Christianity" NOW...became he? of course no longer. He had no longer something to do with the be conscious, or the Spirit of God. I advise you examine the Bible for your self....and hit upon what God easily says, and not what some in background have carried out in His call without reflecting His nature. yet to respond to your unique question, that's why issues have looked as though it may substitute over the years. truly, God's be conscious has constantly be unchanging. And technological information hasn't proved something approximately Christianity incorrect, in certainty, basically the choice. wish that facilitates...

There truly is no way of proving which religion is correct, only what is correct for you. Christ changes lives, I see the proof in some of the believers that I know. As for myself, I read a book called "The Signature of God" by Grant Jeffrey which provided evidence for the bible that I couldn't deny. Peace :-)
