how many years do i still have to wait inorder for my sisters petition file to get approved...do i have to wait for more than 10 years?

how long will i have to wait...oh and by the way we are not us citizens yet..will i have to wait for more or less than 5 years?

dulcern4u, my sister is in the philippines right now..and yeah..we did petition her on the year 2005..and now i think that her paper are being processed...i have been researching though..but im only inquiring about the petition papers

If you are not a US citizen yet, you cannot file an I-130 for your sister. Only citizens can petition for siblings. If you still have a green card but sent in a petition for your sister, eventually it will be sent back to you as unapprovable.

Right now, the backlog for the Philippines for siblings (F4 category) is about 23 years. You can check the Visa Bulletin:

there are quotas limiting the amount of visas approved per year by INS and they vary by country. The wait is sometimes VERY long!
