Persecution involves taking a privilege away from a certain group of people and not others.

What other religions have their god(s) or goddess(es) in the United States pledge? Allah? Ra? Any of the Greek gods? How about the Hindu ones?

Why do some people claim taking “God” out of the pledge is a form of persecution against Christians when no other gods from other religions are even mentioned in the pledge?

It's not persecution. Christians think they own the word "God" but all intelligent people know that there have been many types of gods throughout our history.

Why isn't Ra or another forgeign god mentioned?

Besides the obvious reason that our founders were not Egyptian, Ra isn't mentioned because he wasn't active in the creation and founding of the United States. Foreign gods are not used for the exact same reason, so your "reason" for removing God is very faulty. If we were in India we wouldn't expect them to put our God into their pledge of allegiance, would we? We'd expect them to use the god that THEIR founding fathers worshiped.

Our forefathers were Christian; Christianity is the founding and prevalent religion on America.

It is clearly not persecution on the level that the Pre-Reformation Catholic Church tortured and burned Protestant Christians, but it is an affront to both our heritage and our present values.

It is tradition, handed down from the patriots who made our existence possible and so we ought to keep it even if only because of it's value as our heritage.

If you like Ra so much you might try moving to Egypt.

What about atheists who are persecuted by Christians on a daily basis for having that statement in the pledge? It is a two way street and you are starting to feel the persecution that you people have put on us for millenia.

First come, first serve. Other religions' people came later. Life is like a restraint and please do not ask me what food is served, otherwise someone will pop up with a discrimination charge.

The christian concept of persecution is being unable to forcibly instill their beliefs on others.

All those who want to take God out of our Country do not know what they are asking. God has protected our Country and should indeed be prominent on our money and in our pledge.
My prayer is that God will continue to Bless the United States despite what atheists and others are trying to do!

They've always used this strategy. "What! You want to take god (Christian, of course) out of the classroom? Stop us from indoctrinating YOUR kids? That's persecution!"
