I mean, I live in Washington D.C and the only people you see under the bridges are, White or Africans Americans, why is it that we dont see many Hispanics under the bridges?

Well I call my husband white, and he calls me morenita (which means Brown in Spanish) I dont mean to say it in a offensive way. When I mean white they are White Americans no white European.

Hey rakster10 but if you are working day and night for your money, that doesnt make you a homeless person. A homeless person are those that are under the bridges and in the service roads specting for you to give them a dollar.

Hot pic! Well, your body looks homeless right now. Hispanics I think have lots of pride to be caught living under the bridge. Not to say that these current individuals don't have pride. American system or white republican or democrat system is a mess! You have white democrats coming from money and white republican coming from money. I think they are alike. Now you have the liberals who think they are liberals but with money. Sure they try to help people but they dont give up their own money! Republicans just flat out rip you off and lie to you. because the system racist (to a degree) hurt people and now we have the effects. Not just Black, brown, but white too. This system of greed is hurting the nation. I still think your body is homeless. I know your latin grandmothers would think the same too. I don't think they would call that pride. lol...

lol...

I'm sorry, I live on the Texas border and I had to comment. I see people begging for money who are hispanic all the time. One lady I saw brought here baby out in the cold night with her to beg. No blanket or anything. Do I ask if they are legal? No. Will I assume they are illegal? No. It's a very common sight here to see hispanic women outside begging for money around places of business(esp. retail). Those who do not see have turned a blind eye perhaps(because only white people are lazy and deserve to starve in their opinion), but the hispanic population in my city is huge so I can tell you they do exist. It also might interest you to know that hispanics are the fastest growing population of homeless. People who tell you they do not beg lie through their teeth.

porque, pinche "la migra" picks them up before you see them. and since i've lived on the streets near mexico (in arizona) i'd say that most hispanics look out for each other better than that... if they see a brother or sister in trouble they are quick to help....i'm white, and when i was homeless i'd hang out in the barrio because that's where i would be taken care of with respect and grace. GRACIAS! no one there yelled at me to "get a job." even the cholo gang bangers would give me the shirt off their backs if i needed it. bless those vatos and vatitas. VIVA LA MEXICANA!!

Being from the area I believe that the article is the best way I can describe it. Maybe the taxpayers should spend the money on homeless people and let the jobs go to the homeless.

Well, they kicked hundreds of illegal aliens out of a canyon near San Diego lately....

Do they count?

And I have seen Hispanics under bridges, but I have no idea why that supports any point, or refutes one.

You are in their home. If they want to live under bridges, at least they are in the right country.

I've never seen so many ignorant twats responding to a question in such ignomious numbers.

Anyhoo, that's because of the region's locale; nestled right above the South, it attracts the poor blacks and white of that area. As such, the face of the disenfranchised reflect the face of the region. If you were to move elsewhere, the homeless population would look different.

How ignorant are some of the people that answered above me. This question never states illegal immigrants, but hispanics and yet most people started talking about how they are hiding from ice or whatever taking jobs. People assume that Hispanic,Latino etc. means illegal immigrants it just shows you how people really think and who is who. People that are homeless are either because they have an illness, drug users, or just dont have anything.

I believe the majority of the time that homelessness is due to mental illness and/or substance abuse. Interesting question. I wonder if there are demographics regarding the homeless and ethnicity.

I think homelessness usually has to do with mental illness, drugs, or hopelessness. Life in the US is considerably better than Mexico for the imigrants so they have nothing to be hopeless about.

my best educated guess is that the latino population lets them in at night, treats there own well,as for us white and blacks,we figure you should do things by your self and earn it,after all they got homeless by themselves,so in short I will say that the Latino population does help their own better, are they better no I dont think so,each race has the same similar problems
