I have been looking at some verse from the "Quran", what do you folks think about them?

Surah Al-Baqarah (The Cow)
15. Allâh mocks at them and gives them increase in their wrong-doings to wander blindly.
27. Those who break Allâh's Covenant after ratifying it, and sever what Allâh has ordered to be joined (as regards Allâh's Religion of Islâmic Monotheism, and to practise its legal laws on the earth and also as regards keeping good relations with kith and kin ), and do mischief on earth, it is they who are the losers.28. How can you disbelieve in Allâh? Seeing that you were dead and He gave you life. Then He will give you death, then again will bring you to life (on the Day of Resurrection) and then unto Him you will return.

I am not going to convert to Islam, yet I wonder if anyone else here has taken a look at what is provided at a site such as the link?
I have noticed some very peculiar things as regards Islam, can anyone here provide anything they have found without being nasty or judgemental?

My motive for looking at this information, is one of empathy.
If one desires to learn about the different world religions, so as to become more effective in understanding their motives, then the possibilities arise of becoming capable of teaching the truth to them without alienating them!

What I am trying to get at, is doesn't anyone find the Quran very difficult to follow?

That is a strange site. First of all, I was not aware of the fact that there were many different sects of Islam, each saying the others are misguided.
Also, even though the Bible was written in other languages, with other rules of grammar, at least when it was translated to English, someone thought that it was important enough to get the correct syntax/grammar.

I am a muslim convert. I used to be Catholic. Islam is a way of life not just a religion. I find that site is helpful. Even muslim scholars will say they have alot to learn. Its best to find someone to teach you. And definately be careful what you read on the internet!
As far as The Cow goes, I would never want to give you an inappropriate interpretaion, I am by no means a scholar and these are the words of God. I will answer any other questions you may have the best I can, it would be my pleasure.Two of the most important surahs (prayers are number 1 and 112. After the first surah we move to the back and study Chapter 30. As muslims we are always learning about our faith. Its very sad how uneducataed people are about Islam. There should be more people like you the desire to learn. Sorry I couldn't answer your question.

In light of the mentioned verses, I am convinced that some of the bodies that are showing up on the streets of Baghdad (and elsewhere) are those of people who, being originally Muslim, have embraced other religions or sects of Islam. This is something that the western mind really doesn't understand and the Mullahs try to obfuscate the meaning of the words to confuse and placate westerners.
These people are killed so that they will be given life on the Day of Resurrection.
The function of that practice verifies the barbarianism of Islam. It serves to oppress and intimidate anyone else from exercising their God-given free will.

I am Muslim but i cannot translate the scripts for you so it may lose its meaning and for that the literal translation of the holy Quran is forbidden but they can translate what the scripts means any way if you realy want to know about Islam try this site " www.sultan.com" you may find something interesting their, or you may find an American Muslim who can clear the meaning for you.
the trouth of Islam has been proved in so many cases, even there was a challenge for everyone to come with one script that holds the same meaning or greater than the scripts of the holy Quran since Islam has been appeared but till now no body could, "even the pope him self" and go check for that.
the cure of blindness has recently been derived from a script in the holy Quran.
the scientist has proved that the moon cut for two parts and compined again as the Quran says.
they also proved so many things that have been told for 1400 years ago in the Holy Quran so how could it not be the word of God, search and you will believe me, but be careful some sites has an Islamic site but its for distroying Islam and its not an Islamic sites.

I have read the Koran and find it somewhat confusing.
It is hard to follow the train of thought.

I usually use it to check quotations from the Koran like yours.

In "The Quran and Modern Science" by Dr. Bucaille it is stated that Allah told Mohamed that it was actually semen that caused a woman to get pregnant. Supposedly this is one of the scientific facts miraculously revealed to the prophet. Supposedly no one else in the world at that time understood the relationship between sex and having babies.

SHAKIR: 2:15: "Allah shall pay them back their mockery, and He leaves them alone in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on."

If you read the previous verses you will see that those who say they are Muslims but are lying being referred to over here. 2.15 as i see just says that Allah will pay them for their mockery (which could be in this world or the here after) and he just leaves them wandering blindly could mean that they are not lucky enough to have Allah's blessings.

2:27-28: These verses just say how can you reject Allah's convenant when it has been confirmed and do mischief in earth. How can you disbelieve Allah who has given life and will take life.

Now why would one who has salvation through Jesus Christ have interest in the teachings of a man who teaches against God? Feel free to reject the atonement and resurrection and serve the law and perhaps your hope is in God's unrighteous judgment agreeing that your sin is not sin as for mine in my house we shall follow the lord.
