Your "child" needs tough love. You have done all you can. Your son is making choices and is learning about consequences. He is the only person who can fix this problem.

You say this is your eldest son. Time to turn your attention to your other children who may respond to you while there is still time. Your devotion might be part of the problem that you are not seeing. If you try and help your eldest son every time he screws up....what is he learning?

Some parents try to make life easy and trouble free for a child, which has the opposite effect. Children must learn to make mistakes and repair the damage themselves.

There is alcoholics anonymous.....a very tried and true program that has helped hundreds of thousands of families. Let your son find his way through AA and the legal system. You could look into Alanon, which is a support system for family members.

Learn the serenity prayer. Recognize that there are things you can't change.....your son has to make some changes all by himself.

Good Luck!

Tell your son to attend AA meetings........Maybe you should come with him to his meetings to give him support.

Tell your son to get a sponsor at his AA meetings.

Continues to show your love and support for him. He needs it eventhough he tries to hide his motions. This is very hard for him , he needs all the support and positive that he can get from the family.

BE STRONG FOR YOUR SON<>

Tell him to learn from this, he's experienced where it's gotten him. Is that the way he wants to live the rest of his life? The choice is his.

Get thee to Alanon. They are the folks who have been in exactly the same spot you are in now! They can share with you what they have done, what works, what doesn't.
