It's part of your T-zone. That is the part on your face that stays oiliest. Mabey you have sensitive skin, and the natural oil will 'bug' your skin, and will cause the unwanted redness.
My solution: Where any type of non-clogging pore lotion over night, every night.

I cannot remember why it happens, but my dermatologist suggested just a little neosporin before bed and it will be gone in a day or two. Do it whenever it comes back.
Make sure to get your cleanser in there. Sometime make up can build up there.

Also, because maybe when you're washing your face you don't get all of the soap out. So all of the soap and oil builds up and it could create pimples, which give the red look.
