I want to get a new trac phone but I want to keep my old phone number. Is this possible, and if so how do I do it.

This is really about as easy as getting your first tracfone. In fact, if you purchased the first one a few years ago, it is even easier now. I did it a few months ago. The best way I determined was to buy the new phone and then to call the 800 number activation line. Tell them that you have a tracfone already and that you want to activate a new phone with the same number and transfer any remaining credits/minutes. The operator, or whomever you talk to will give you several codes to put into your new phone. The activation process can take up to 48 hours after the codes have been accepted. When the phone is activated, you will recieve a text message allerting you that it is ready to use. My phone took about 12 hours to activate. The old phone can be sent to Motorola to be recycled. Be sure to remove all personal information, like stored numbere, etc. and let the battery run completely down before recycling. The old phone will be deactivated and out of use before the new phone becomes active, so you will be out of touch by that phone for a short time.
