I guess everyone who thinks I should give them to the humane society is a vegan? Have you seriously thought about how many roosters there would be if everybody did that? Would you rather they took in thousands of chickens a year, or saved dogs and cats? You're probably the same people that would complain if you were woken up by a rooster crowing every morning. If you prefer I could give them away to cock fighters.

The most humane way is to snap the neck. Barring that, I give away my male chicks as soon as they can be sexed. The day laborers around here are glad to get them, and I don't have to think about where they end up!

Select breeding huh? need the females to further your business and just want to RID yourself of the males huh? that's an ugly business!

Call the U.S.H.S. United States Humane Society and they can give you all the info you need and perhaps some shelters that would take the chicks in.

Male chicks are called roosters. Take them to an animal shelter. Hopefully, they will find good homes.

Give them away, sell them, send them to a shelter. Do you want the memory of killing them? You know how to kill them humanely. Think it over. The extra step to take is really the humane route. Have a tweet year.
