I have very thick wavy hair, which resists many styles except straightening [which takes 1 hour to do]. I have long layers, but that didn't help much. I have heard about getting one's hair thinned out, but how is it done, and what exactly is the end result? How much will it cost me? Answers appreciated.

when u get ur usual hair cut they have these special scissors. they take some hair and then they cut it a certain way and pull it down and it is painless except for a little tug every now and then and i dont even think it costs anythin if it is then very little. all it is takin a little layer off what u have. and trust me it makes all the worlds difference.

Dont worry hun!!

Good Luck......

the scissors used are more like teeth than a blade.....so its like cutting ur hair with gaps.......the bad thing about it is that once it starts growing back ur hair usaully seems thicker beacuse that hair is shorter than the rest...they do it like right in the middle of the top and bottom layers of your hair so u wont see the hair when its growing back.....most places do it along with your cut for no extra cost ....but it shouldnt be more than maybe $5 or $10...................i have the same issue...and i solved it by cutting my hair short!! its less to straighten so it doesnt take long

My sister told me about it, apparently scissors are used to thin your hair, without pain. I'm thinking about getting it done. I have the same problem with styling my hair, it's much too thick too hold a curl. I would tell you more, but that's all i know.

When you get your hair cut you can get tis done free. The process envolves using a pair of scissors with a blade that has gaps in it at intervals. Where the gaps are the hair doesn't get cut the cut is only where there is no gap in the scissors. Good Luck
