Try to turn it on manually. If it works, the problem comes from the remote control (may need new batteries).
If it does not work, make sure the plug is not pulled out from the outlet. Make sure the cat or the dog, if you have any, did not chew the wires...
It it still does not work, make sure you have electricity in the outlet (a few days ago, I almost brought back my shredder to the store then I realized I blew a fuse, or something, in that room, and none of the outlets had juice...). Try to plug something else in there like a vacuum cleaner or something to see if it works.
If nothing works, maybe your TV died of old age (5-10 years).
Then I'm sorry and I hope you renewed your warranty...

could be the power supply went out it's better to get another one the parts mite be more then what the TV was worth and if you buy a warranty on your new one make sure you get a replacement or you mite wait over 30 days or more

Is there power, forgot to plug it in, using the dead remote to turn it on. If none of these work then it's your picture tube, time for a new one.

a tv should stop working if its old as in like 5 years old cause its circuits and stuff get tired like an old man drops dead cause hes live to long or plug it in or fuse or check ur outlet

tvs have an internal cut-off switch kind of. if it detects a problem of a certain level, then it'll keep the tv off so no further damage can occur..
