Numbers 12:1-10 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed. And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
2 Kings 5:27 Because you have done this, you and your descendants will suffer from Naaman’s leprosy forever.” When Gehazi left the room, he was covered with leprosy; his skin was white as snow

No! The ones who had leprosy, but were healed were a part of God's plan to show the miracles Jesus Christ could perform. Because unfortunately some people must see a miracle or something physical before they will believe anything!

No. There are people today who have Leprosy. It's caused by a tube-like bacteria. Don't let anyone lie to you and claim that it's caused by a person doing some wrong things. Other wise Mr. Bin Laden would have it.

Well, the obvious answer is: NO.
But I think you're actually trying to ask if that's the way it was viewed. And I think the answer to that is "yes." Much like the AIDS of it's day, there were "innocent victims," but primarily the people who suffered from leprosy were thought to had been "smited" by God for their wicked ways.

Many of the illnesses and physical infirmities that people had back then were there for Jesus to heal so the people could see with their eyes that Jesus is the Son of God.
Day after day, a blind beggar sat at one of the temple doors in Jerusalem. Nearly all other city's inhabitants knew the man was blind from their visits to the temple. Their disciples, who also knew the man, were troubled by a question. One day they asked Jesus: Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?
Their question is so human! It showed no love or concern for the man's burden. It showed that they believed the burden was deserved. Note Jesus reply...
John 9:3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
Jesus did not say that the man and his parents were not sinners. He asserted that this man's;'s burden couldn't be traced to some specific sin.
What Jesus did to the blind beggar showed how He looked at his affliction. Jesus saw an opportunity to be of service. He healed the man, even as by His death He was to heal him from sin.

In at least 2 cases it was the direct judgment of God for sin. I don't think you can conclude that every leper was afflicted directly as a result of sin. Even today some are sick because of their sin, but that doesn't prove all who are sick are sick because of their sin.

All sickness comes from man's sin. While healing the man with the withered hand Jesus said thy sins be forgiven. The Pharisees condemned Him saying no man had power to forgive sin.Jesus responded by saying which is easier , thy sins be forgiven or be thou whole.Jesus doesn't just take care of the illness but also the cause of it.

They had leprosy because they caught a germ, or bacillus, called Mycobacterium leprae and I can safely say the Mycobacterium leprae bacillus has no idea what a sin is.
