Did YOU file for your sister? ... OR ... Did your mother/father file?

Understand, you can't file for a sister because you are not a citizen. Only a citizen can file for a sister.

Your parent(s) can file for their DAUGHTER as Green Card holders. That's preference 2B.

You have to make yourself clear.

and dance: Okay, I get it. For permanent residents filing for daughter over 21 they are up to Feb. 2005. That means they are currently working on applications they received about 2 years ago. So you must have applied later in 2005 since you haven't heard anything yet. If you can remember the approximate month you applied it will help you track things better. But some time this year they should be done with her application.

Per INS's website, the CA service center is currently working on Jan. 2003 applications for daughters over the age of 21. Looks like there is a 4 year lag. If you filed in 2004 or 2005, looks like it won't be processed until 2008 or 2009. Sorry for the bad news...

For the third time, you can't file for your sister if you are not a US citizen.
