I am planning to get a part-time job, and need to see how many hours I want to work. I don't want the money I'm making to affect my financial aid however.

If you qualify for a work-study position at your school, try to get one of these jobs. Any income you make from a work-study is reported on your FAFSA but is excluded on Worksheet C of the FAFSA and will not affect your EFC.
If you are not eligible for a work-study or funds are not available then making $3000 a year or less would typically not increase the EFC. The following website has a good calculator: http://www.finaid.org/calculators/finaidestimate.phtml

It is really hard to say because it depends on number in family and if you are dependent or independent as well as other factors. They do have online calculators to help you get estimates but I have found none of them to be very accurate.
