I have windows xp professional with service pack 2 and my task manager under windows security window (Ctrl, Alt, Delete) has been greyed out mysteriously, is there a setting in windows xp that causes that to happen or could there be some kinda hidden malicious code running in the background silently (such as a virus or spyware, a trojan, and such)? Any help would be highly appreciated.

I've never come across this one, but by any chance are you logged in as a user with a really lame set of access privileges?

It might be a virus preventing you from seeing it, but task manager's process (taskmgr.exe) may be deleted or corrupted. There is not fix for thijs.
