Short answer: yes if the fixture is a 120 volt one and accepts 125 W or higher.

Watt refers to how much power the bulb consumes, which is related somewhat to how bright it will burn. The voltage specification relates to the type of circuit where the light bulb can be used - 120V being your typical home circuit. A flashlight bulb may be rated for, say, 6V.

You should almost never use bulbs on circuits different from the voltage that was specified (especially higher than specified), and in most cases, the mounting will prevent you from doing so.

Generally, wattage specifications are more liberal; "use bulbs up to 75W" could mean you can use a 60W bulb without problems (other than it wont be too bright). The main restriction here is in heat generated; if you put a 100W in a fixture rated for 60W, it will get too hot and possibly create a hazard.

Watt is a measure of power, volt is a measure of dynamic potential difference in a charge so a fixture rated at 125 watts will handle 125 watts no matter the voltage since power (watt) = I (current) times V (voltage). Of course, the bulb has to be 120 volt bulb.

Absolutely. You can run a 300 watt bulb on 120 volts as long as your fixture can handle the wattage. Just be careful to keep the bulb away from drapes, curtains, christmas trees, etc, as 125 watt bulbs tend to get very hot very fast. [

Sure no problem. You'll only be pulling about 1 A of current. As long as you have no more that 14 of these on the same circuit, your circuit breaker won't trip and you'll have plenty of light.
