i have 2 kids and im not married. i worked this year but not too much it was a temp job.also my cars tranny went so i am needing to buy another car.has anyone done their taxes yes and recived the earned income tax credit? how much could i expect to recive?thanks!!

If the two kids live with you and are your dependents, you would probably be eligible to get something from the EIC. The amount depends on your earned income for the year. It ranges from $1 to over $4000. You say you didn't work much - you'd have to translate that into actual dollars. If you made $3000, you might get around $1200 as EIC. If you made $1000, it would be more like $410. If you made $8000, EIC would be $3210.

You're probably eligible. The amount that you get will depend upon your earned income and how many children you have. You'll have to figure your taxes to determine how much.

First go through the EITC assistant then look at the EITC table at this web site and it will tell you exactly what to expect back.
