Suppose that you have been looking and have not found someone that you really like. Suppose that you're not confident that you will ever find them (don't know why, just suppose that you believe that). Would you settle for someone that you like to be with sometimes, but have major relationship problems, or would you go it alone?

I'd never "settle" merely to avoid being single. Especially if I already know we had "major relationship problems" because those problems are not going to get better. Continue to be with that other person sometimes, continue to enjoy each other's company but then going your own way when you no longer want to share. I think it is far sadder to see couples who no longer seem to even like each other, have nothing left in common, and are basically all alone but married to each other. And you don't have to "grow old alone"--you can have friends who cherish and care about you, who like to do things you do, who make you laugh and smile and fill up your life.

I'm actually looking forward to being old and single. The last thing I need is a serious relationship. As I say, "The only time to settle is when you're dead."

I would wait and have faith in God to bring me the right one in His time.

If you're unhappy in a relationship, every moment you are with THEM is every moment you're missing out on someone you'd REALLY be happy with....
