I've been flirting around with this guy for two weeks. He asked me out, and we had our first date today, but there was no goodnight kiss. However, he did ask me to meet him out for dinner. There is an energy between us, and he knows i'm attracted to him. When does it become an issue that he hasn't kissed me?

A lot of guys I know don't kiss on the first date as a matter of principle. Give him the benefit of the doubt and wait until the third date. If he asked you out, it's clear he cares about you, so don't take the lack of kiss the wrong way.

Maybe he is just a decent guy and is showing you the respect he thinks you deserve. The fact that he asked you to meet him for dinner means he wants to spend more time with you.

He also may be the shy type so in this case, you may want to make the move after the third or fourth date. Watch his cues and see if he is really interested in you.

BUT PLEASE, do not make the mistake of having sex too soon. It clouds people's judgements (on both sides of a relationship) and becomes a source of regret if things don't work out. If you want to be serious with him, take the time to get to know each other. It'll be worth it!

I married my Shy Guy and to this day, he is still a decent person :)

Let things happen when they're supposed to. If a guy kisses a girl on the first date, sometimes the girl doesn't want that..it would be too forward, moving too fast, other girls would be heartbroken "whats wrong with me? why didn't he kiss me"?? If after dinner you want him to kiss you, take the initiative and lean in for the kiss* yourself~ He will get the mssg that you want it as much as he does. He's being a gentleman* showing you Respect and not treating you like a tramp*~

Wow this sounds familiar! :)

I think it's ok to have a couple dates pass with no kiss (maybe he's just old-fashioned!) but if you guys have gone out 4 or 5 times, to dinner and things like that, and there's no kiss then I would probably use the quote from Sex and the City to say, "he's just not that into you."

That's what I found out. :(

Whats the rush...why not get to know each other better first, and then think about kissing. There are far more important things in a relationship besides kissing, plus it was just the first date. Maybe he is trying to be respectful towards you.

Good luck!

Some people wait, and don't kiss on the 1st meeting. If you get a 2nd date, you can ask him for a kiss. Good luck.

maybe on your second third date. He was probably just too shy to ask for one but comfortable enough that he knew he wanted to see u again. give him time dont worry. He probably also knows that alot of women dont kiss on the first date and just wanted to give u that respect

Not everyone kisses on the first date..
If nothing happens tonight..
try leaning in for a hug then as you slowly pull away give him a kiss on his cheek and see if he makes a move..

Be patient.. It might be really worth it..

He may be waiting for you to make the first move....he may respect you feelings on the matter.... don't worry just go slow there's plenty of time for the other stuff.... let the 2 of u learn about each other before jumping into a quick relationship.....

Not every guy will kiss on the first date - I only kissed my first girlfriend on our third. It's old-fashioned, but some guys do it.

If you want to be sure, tilt your head and close your eyes - he'll get the idea.
