Oreo Dream Dessert
by Elizabeth Brusca

Serve this chocolate dream in place of a birthday cake or enjoy it as an easy-to-make ice cream dessert.

1 package (about 50) Oreo cookies
1 stick of butter or margarine, melted
1/2 gallon of vanilla ice cream, slightly softened
1 jar (14.5 ounces) fudge
1 tub of whipped cream

Crush all the Oreos, filling and all, into small crumbs. Reserve 1/2 cup of crumbs and set aside. Add melted butter to Oreo crumbs and press the butter firmly into the bottom of rectangular pan.

Open the carton of ice cream. Slice and layer the ice cream on top of the Oreos. Spread fudge over ice cream, then spread whipped cream over fudge. Sprinkle reserved Oreo crumbs over top. Freeze overnight before serving.

I found a great recipe for Oreo truffles at kraftfoods.com. By signing up for a free membership, I get a great magazine every month and a calendar every year. All for free. The recipes are very simple and use common ingredients and everything I've tried so far is great!
These look yummy! I really wanted to make some for a party over the holidays but couldn't pull it off time-wise with everything else. If you make them, please let me know how they turn out! Cheers :)

Really Freakin' Easy Oreo Chocolate Cheesecake:

What you'll need:
-store-bought chocolate pie crust or ghramcracker crust (in baking aisle of grocery store)
-one package of cream cheese, softened at room temp
-1/2 a regular sized bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted over low heat, microwave or double boiler
-crushed up oreo cookes, enough to cover pie
-a few scoops of Cool Whip or Redi Whip
-three whole oreos to garnish.

How to make:
Mix melted chocolate with cream cheese. Make sure it's all evenly chocolate-colored. Spoon into crust. Spread a layer of crushed Oreos on top. Spoon a few dollops of whipped topping. Garnish with 3 Oreos in the center.

You can also make this using whatever kind of cookies or candy you like. Fruit, blended first in food processor or blender, can be used in place of chocolate, which is great with crumbled shortbread cookies and fresh fruit on top.

I make this all the time, I hope you enjoy it!

Oreo Snow Balls 1 package Oreo cookies 12 ounces cream cheese -- softened 20 ounces almond bark -- melted Directions: Crush 1 pkg. (1 lb. 4 oz.) Oreo cookies. Mix with 12 oz. softened cream cheese. Roll into balls; chill. Dip in 18-20 oz. melted almond bark to coat. Made 75. crush Oreo's in food processor (Ziploc bag & rolling pin wasn't as easy) and add in cream cheese cubes to mix. Recipe called for 12 oz. cream cheese but I use 8 oz. I also chill this mixture before rolling into balls. This is also quite a hit. Rudolph's Cookie Kisses 1 cup softened margarine 1 teaspoon vanilla 2/3 cup sugar 1 2/3 cup flour 1/4 cup cocoa 1 bag (9 oz) chocolate kisses Beat margarine, sugar & vanilla until it is creamy. In separate bowl, stir together flour and cocoa. Blend into other mixture, mixing well. Refrigerate for about 1 hour or until dough is easy to handle. Mold scant tablespoon dough around each kiss, covering completely. Shape into balls, then bake on cookie sheet for 10 to 12 minutes or until set. Cool, then roll in powdered sugar. Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
