If you placed a deposit on a vehicle, but did not sign the final paperwork, then you are not bound to take the vehicle, but the dealer legally can keep any deposit.
There is no right of recension laws on purchases that you make, unless the person solicits you at your house, and the purchase is made there. (All you 3 day rights people are ill informed).
If you ordered the vehicle to be built, then the dealer can cancel the order with no problems, but can still keep your deposit.
Legally, you are never bound to purchase the vehicle until you sign all paperwork, and ownership of the vehicle transfers to you and/or any lender that may be financing it.

The truth is that if you signed a buyers order, you have no time to change your mind-not 24 hrs, not 3 days. There is no 3 day right of rescission on an automobile. You have signed a legally binding contract, and if you put down a deposit, you could at their option forfeit it if you cancel. The best thing to do is try to reason with them and see if they will match the price. If not, the difference in price and the size of deposit, would be what I would factor my decision upon. Good Luck!

That car is NOT yours until you have gone thru and actually signed the papers, and dealers cannot normally do this unless the car is right there for you to take that day. I'd say you are free and clear!
FYI...there is no cooling off period for buyers if you live in the state of California. Once you sign, the car is yours unless the dealer states otherwise. Very few have this ie Carmax, or at least they use too.

Try telling them you don't have the money right now or show them the other car maybe they will come down in price. But you like the other better so i don't know. Did you already put money down on the car? I don't see what is wrong with canceling the order.

First question would be, did you put down a deposit on it and did you sign a contract. If so read the fine print I don't know your location but here you have 24 hours to change your mind and that is the law.

Don't buy it!!! Even if you signed a contract you have a limited period time to back out in every state I believe. They just don't want you to back out because they will lose a sale. If you have not signed a contract (not a purchase order either) just call them again and tell them you don't want it.
