Many holy wells were filled in and by (Scots) law were not allowed to be used for any spiritual reason. Does anyone have any knowledge of any in the Edinburgh/Borders/Fife areas? Or where I might be able to find this out?

I dunno about Scotland but I read about the pagan ones from Ireland in the Renaissance magazine... you might find something that way. Sorry I'm not much help. I'd heard rumors that usually they were destroyed or turned into something else to disguise them.
