Would you rather they moo, like cows?
When I was a kid, my toy with the animal sounds was all messed up. The pig made a noise like the chicken, the dog mooed like a cow, the horse meowed like a cat. It was loads of fun!

but the number 1 reason is because they are warning you that there is something going on or something it different.
