I dont know. I guess people think that a fat person can't control their weight, maybe its genetic or something, and so calling them fat would hurt their feelings. Alot of people dont understand that some people are thin because its just the way they are built, and no matter how much they eat, they dont gain weight. Only afew years back i was like that and i hated when people said i was skinny. Now that i think about it though, i'd rather be called thin than fat.

I don’t think any of those are right. People have enough on there plate than have to listen to how others perceive them. We as a sociality have become all around rude. We no longer see that those comments are not appropriate. We have no right to judge people and there appearance. I know its part of being human but let keep it to ourselves. If we do this maybe some day people will learn the meaning of respect.

That is an awesome question and I am glad you asked it. Well, it is because we as a human race decide what is right and what is wrong based on influences like, prejudice, religion, peers, etc.

Simple:
It's generally considered unnatractive to be fat, but not to be thin.
Plus almost nobody desires to be fat, but most people desire to be thin
