huh???

My advice is ... if this is your first baby and you have nobody else to care for except for you and the baby, then yes sleep when the baby sleeps! You need all the rest you can get ... getting adjusted to motherhood can take some time. Good luck.

I never could do it. I can't sleep during the day. I started putting my daughter in her crib at 9 pm every night when she was about 3 weeks old, even if she didn't go right to sleep. After about a month, she was waking up only once a night to eat. By 3 months of age, she was sleeping all thru the night and has ever since (now 18 months).

I always tried to sleep when the baby slept, but I had a lot of support. My mother helped me out, My husband did almost all of the house work and laundry- plus he would get up and gt the baby for me if the baby woke up( because I breast fed, he could not have fed the baby). He was a very hands on Dad. I could not have asked for a better father to my children or better partner in life.

Very practical...because after delivery you are exhausted like hell...try to get as much sleep when the baby is too, to regain your strenght and you most likely to be awake in the nights , for the night feedings and changing :)

well it might be hard to get yourself to nap everytime baby is napping but for a while after birth.. that's the only sleep time you'll get.
I didn't nap during the day though unless just coundn't fight it and gfell asleep w/o planning to.
i did my sleeping at night like normal .. but with a monitor next to me and woke up several times during the night when baby did.
I call those months the Zombie days hehe.

It depends on you. I am a perfectionist and hate a dirty house. So i always meant to sleep when she slept, but i always got busy doing much needed cleaning or laundry or soaking in a hot tub etc, etc. If i could do it over, i would sleep when she sleeps and do the other stuff when i could. For me it wasn't practical though.

IT is very practical...till your baby starts sleeping through the night you need to sleep when it does.

I think it a bunch of bull, when baby is sleeping you have so much other stuff to do but in my case mine did'nt sleep at all. She had colic real bad and slept about 10 min a day for about 8mths.. I had no help and barely made it through it..

If you can train yourself to do it then great!!! I never could... there is always something that neds to be done, and while the baby's sleeping is the best time to do it. I also like having a little bit of time all to myself while she's sleeping... it's my way of relaxing.
