I would mention the fact that their was a cat residing in her basement apt before she moved in. I would also ask her for copies of this "allergy" report from the doctor. If she is/was having these types of allergies, then you would think this would have started when the cat came to live with you.......not 7 months later.
Several meds from MANY doctors?? Why wouldn't 1 doctor be able to control this allergy. I would talk to the landlord. He should have sent you a letter stating the woman had an allergy and you need to get rid of the cat......not be evicted. The landlord should also base his decision on a medical report.....not just this womans word. Who knows......maybe she is also allergic to dogs?? Mention to the landlord that she saw this car prior to making this report and stated she did not have any more problems with the cat.
Eviction seems a tad drastic.

Are you getting evicted because you are not supposed to have a cat, or because of the allergies?
Because I think you should tell the landlord that the person who lived there BEFORE her had a cat. THAT is why she is having the allergies-- not because of the air vents.
I have terrible cat allergies, and yes they can be THAT bad. She isn't lying. However, it isn't because of you-- it's because the hair and dander and all the smells and crap from the cat stays there for ages after the cat leaves. I can go into my mother in law's house (their cat has been dead for several years) and I still have the cat allergy.
Also, a basement is a TERRIBLE place for a person with bad allergies (someone who needs several doctors and medication) to live. It is damp and that breeds mold and all kinds of stuff that aggravates allergies in general.
I am sorry that you are getting kicked out ofyour apartment. If you were allowed to have a cat when you moved in, you should check your lease and check with a lawyer and don't just leave because the landlord says you have to. You have rights as a tenant and that includes time to find a new place and not getting screwed on the security deposit. Lots of times people just listen to their landlord and don't know.
However, if you had a cat and weren't supposed to, make sure your new place allows pets.

Yes, it is possible for people to be that allergic but it is rare. You could only legally be evicted if it says in your lease "no pets" or something similair to that. In which case, why did you bring it home in the first place. If it does not, fight it in court.
I use to be VERY allergic to cats, it caused me to loose my childhood best friend. She had a cat and I couldn't be around her at all as just the cat hair on her clean closed caused my eyes to swell shut.
The other tenant could very easily have thought she was over the allergy and then one day BOOM, its back again in full force. It does not matter when the litter box is or its bed or even the cat. If there is ANY open airways between your place and hers, you could unwillingly be causing her to suffer.
However, if her allergy is this strong and she's living where a cat lived previously then either a) its been a LONG time since the cat was there b) she's had a LOT of cleaning done or c) she's lying to try to get rid of you.
Good luck, fight it in court.

Could be. When I was looking for an apartment I could go into a new place and almost instantly know that there had been a cat there though because my allergies are so bad. Zyrtec gives me the worst nightmares ever and Clarintin doesn't even work.
I do have a dog. No problem there, The sad part is that I kinda prefer cats but I can't get anywhere near them.
It feels like I'm being strangled in a 120 degree room with the flu and ants are crawling all over me when I'm around them for too long.

from an allergy sufferer-it honestly can be as bad as she says. but, that being said, it does seem very suspicious to me. she could be allergic to a million different things (& especially in a basement) mold, pollen, her own perfume/beauty products, etc. unless she cuddled with your cat one day & then had an immediate allergic reacion, I don't know how she'd know for sure. allergies also can develop & get worse over time. i.e.-at first the cat just made her eyes water & now she can't even breath when she's in the same room as the cat. & cat dander stays in a house for decades, just because you move out, her suffering is not going to go away immediately. but, unless you really love the place you live-maybe it's just time to take the hint? i'm pretty sure the landlord can evicte you legally with proper notice, but there are usually a lot of tenant's rights agencies that could help you fight it. good luck.

It relies upon on how allergic you're. i actually am fairly allergic to them - i'm getting an itchy nostril, that usually maintains to epidermis pealing from the best of my mouth and after that it fairly is astma. With success my eyes do not start to itch. even nonetheless - it is likewise achieveable to trip the hypersensitive reaction out for me, so i've got controlled to stay with cats using fact the day i've got discovered it. it fairly is hell interior the beginning up - some nights the astma have been given genuine undesirable, yet after a pair of weeks (regardless of kittens) it slowly shrivels and disappears. nicely, i don't cuddle with my cat plenty, yet I enable him lick my face and that i puppy him yet i don't burry my face and breathe deeply. nicely i've got tried it to confirm if the hypersensitive reaction became into completely long previous now and then, even nonetheless it fairly is nonetheless there. :) vulnerable nonetheless presently - very vulnerable. it fairly is been almsot 15 years now with approximately 6-7 diverse cats in diverse a while. All kittens starts off a reaction that supplies me astma yet every time it wears off after a on an identical time as.

sounds like they don't like to live in the basement.
Your vents would have to suck air in and then blow it on her, which we both know it doesn't do. What a vindictive person she is.
Good luck finding a nicer place with nice neighbors who like cats.
