You should go to the website for whatever county that your school is in. Then look at the academic calendar. The testing dates should be on it.

Studying for midterms was simple for me when I was in high school: I don't do it. But if you want to develop good habits for when you get to college, Tips: Get used to the style of the tests. Each teacher will have a different style of testing. Try to figure out what your teacher really wants you to know. They will emphasize it in class, but most people are chatting, texting or sleeping while this happens. Never copy people's homework. It does you no good. For math and science, instead of just looking at your old homeworks, redo your old homeworks without looking at the original. Then do more problems (the ones which have answers in the back) and don't rest easy until your answer matches the back. Try to understand everything that you learned. But just "understanding" isn't always enough because you might forget. So that's what homeworks are for. If you're studying on the day of the test, you're probably not gonna do well. Make sure you're 100% confident the day of the test, not because you know a bunch of facts, but because when you were studying you were able to do every type of question that even has the slightest possibility of appearing on the test.
