Least you asked here. I took my dog to the vet when his first tooth fell out. I felt like a real plonker. (In defence all of my other dogs were adult rescues I had no idea their teeth fell out)

They lose their baby teeth from 5 months. If your lab is 8 months, I think it's more likely to be a broken tooth.

Puppies have baby teeth that are also called milk teeth. Just like children, pups can lose them at different ages. I have however, had a dog that broke a tooth on a cow hoof. Look at the tooth closely, it is really really sharp? If so, it is a baby tooth, it not, you maight want the vet to make sure that there is not an infection from cracking a tooth.

As many others have stated, yes, puppies do lose their baby teeth to make room for their adult teeth. My pup even had to have two of his baby teeth pulled because they did not come out on their own, and the vet wanted to avoid any problems with the adult teeth underneath.
I do want to reiterate what others have said, though, about checking the tooth and his mouth to confirm that it is not a broken tooth. Because that happens sometimes, too!

Yep, puppies lose their baby teeth!
If you want to be positive it was a baby tooth and not a broken tooth, just look at the tooth and see if it's whole or in pieces. I can pretty much assure you that it will be a whole tooth--and that it will be replaced soon by a "big dog" tooth!
Alternately, of course, you can take the tooth (and the pup) to the vet to be sure.

Like humans dogs/puppies also lose baby teeth..
Puppies typically lose their teeth between 4-8 months of age. The molars and premolars will be first and the canine teeth are usually last. You should make sure your little bundle of fluff has lots of toys to chew on, this way your furniture does not get chewed up !!!

Yes puppys loose there teeth just like a baby,it may be a good idea to invest in some of those cold baby teething rings as this will soothe its gums and stop it from chewing your furniture.

Puppies and kittens lose their baby teeth usually starting around 3 months and have lost all of them by 6 months. Their adult teeth will not be as sharp as their baby teeth, which is nice if there are nippers or chewers.

Yes, puppies do lose their baby teeth like humans. Sometimes they do not fall out on their own and must be pulled by the vet in order to accomodate the developing adult teeth.

They do lose their teeth. They also can get some pretty rank breath with losing them too. Just keep a eye on him. Also check his mouth every once in awhile. Sometimes the baby teeth don't come out all the way.

Don't worry! Puppies lose their baby teeth, then the permanent one's come in. Unless the tooth looks like it's actually broken, then you'll have to take him, to the vet so he can have it pulled.
