Have you ever stopped believing in God? I've been through some real challenges lately and I've lost all faith. Has this ever happened to anybody else?

its normal to happen but for me there was always something that brought me back, ( and i knew it was God pulling me back to him cuz i can just feel it) but yeah, it took me getting locked up, getting shot, getting stabbed, to keep going back to HIM. its normal but i learned that i should always keep the Lord in my life no matter if im happy doing well or when im most miserable and depressed.

I understand what you are saying. It's kind of happened to me before, but it happened to me a little differently. I was afraid that I wasn't saved and that I would go to Hell. It seemed all to real and no matter how much I prayed the salvation prayer, would get extreme terror that God was going to kill me and send me to Hell. But the Bible says that Love has NOTHING to do with fear. I now know that those panic attacks were from Satan. Satan is trying to pull you away, too. What you are facing right now, has happened to others, as well. You are not alone. But everyone i've known that had a problem with this turned back around and are now closer to God than they ever had been before. You wouldn't be asking this if you really didn't care, so i know that you do care and want some reassurance. Psalm 46:10 says "Be still and know that I am God." If you are having doubts, look to the Bible. Try finding answers there. Pray to God, tell Him that you're having doubts. talk to Him about it. He knows and wants you to call on Him for help. Also tell a trusted Christian friend or even your pastor about your doubts. Your friend can help you and uplift you.

Isaiah 40:15 "
Behold, the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are regarded as a speck of dust on a balance. Behold, he lifts up the islands like a very little thing."

Isaiah 40:17
"All the nations are like nothing before him. They are regarded by him as less than nothing, and vanity."

These verses show the power of God. That His power is SO great it doesn't even compare to that of man's. also, check out the websites below. Feel free to email me about anything. I'll be praying for you! God Bless you :-)

I never really stopped believing in God. I just ignored Him. In fact for 30 years I ignored Him. I was so stupid.

You know, those challenges are a test of your faith.

I've been through challenges, grief, loss, alot of pain, and I hung in there, purposefully drawing closer to God, and He saw me through it all, and I learned alot during that time.

When you are going through these challenges, that is when you need to do two things.
1. Do what you can yourself, then
2. Give it to God.

I know it's hard, but don't let the adversary win.

Read the first chapter of James. It's alot about challenges, trials and temptations...how we are to be strong, and we will come out of it stronger.

Losing faith in God is not believing that He isn't their anymore, it's not believing that He is in control anymore. He is always in Control. Once we realize that we will stop asking God why He did something or allowed something to happen and start saying, What am I supposed to learn from this? What is God trying to tell me? Bad cicumstances doesn't mean God isn't there and it certainly doesn't mean He doesn't care. Who said belief in God was a wonderful party and your life would be full of great things? If anything Christians suffer more often from persecution from man and trials from God when they are believers. It amazes me sometimes how people think their life will shift into some happy great moment once they start believing. Many Christians have struggles and struggle with truly believing God has it in His hands. Sometimes I even struggle with that. But, I know He does and He promises me He will never leave me or forsake me. Matter of fact God says that His grace is sufficient for you. That means He has already sent His son on the cross to die for you. He has had mercy on your soul which was damned. The rest of the things He does in our lives is to work together for the good of His purposes even if we don't understand it. Don't give up on God, give up on your belief that He doesn't care because He does. Who knows what is better for us? Do we? or does God?

I have never stopped believing, just have gotten really mad at God. I've never had trouble with the believing part. I've lost a baby, and grandparents and recently my dad, and I was really mad at God and didn't understand it all. I know "it rains on the just and unjust" and bad things happen to us all, but man, it is hard to take sometimes.
I know how you feel, and trust me, God understands what we are feeling. He made us, He knows we will have doubts and be mad at Him sometimes. But He sees the big picture, we don't. He sees the ending and why we have to go through what we go through. We don't always understand, we just need to hold His hand and He will see us through it all. Hang in there and don't give up on God. He didn't stop existing just because you are going through hard times. He still exists and He is there for you. Just talk to Him and tell Him how you feel. He understands. It will all be worth it someday. Don't give up.

This is when we are tested on how good christians we are how inolved in doing God's will or our own; remember that Jesus told us to be better than the religious people of their time and if our righteousness was not better than theirs then we should in no wise enter the kingdom so let's get more ingaged in the business of our father OK

...So then, faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. . Romans 10:17

I honestly can't say I have. My mom wonders how I keep my faith so strong because times are really bad right now. I tell her if God wasn't on my side then I would be afraid to see what would happen if things are bad now. God doesn't make bad things happen to you. God helps you through. God teaches you through what is happening to you. HE is teaching you to stay strong, say your prayers, don't go astray- everything will turn out the way it should. Then, through your life lesson you can go out and help others through it to. Be strong and strong in your faith.

I did for a little while, or maybe I just never thought about it, but then something happened that really got me studying the world. After a good long time of thinking hard about everything I finally came to the conclusion that there is a god.

I lost my faith along time ago when I was raped at the age of 8. Even then I went to several churches and every single one of them, the pastor did exactly what they were preaching against. That proved to me that either god's not real or he just don't care about us.

I never really quit believing in God, but I did deny Him. I went thru a time that I denied God, I disowned my parents and I became an alcoholic. I got so I didn't care where the next bottle came from, as long as I had it. I was really in denial. Then I had to go to court, and they got me for contempt, because I told them I didn't know where my son was, he was with a truckdriver, any way, I spent 3 weeks in jail, and I had people of all races coming to me for advice. I turned back to God and asked for His forgiveness, then after 7 years of denying my parents, too, I sent them each 3 long stem roses, and a message, that said, even thru all the hard times and misunderstanding we've had, I am still your daughter, and I love you.
I waited three days and then called, my Mom answered the phone, and I said, "I love you."
She said, "Juanita, is that you?" and she started crying, and said she loved me too.
If it hadn't been for God showing me how to reach back out to my parents, I might not have been able to see my Dad before he passed away, and now that they think my Mom has dementia, I might never have been able to put my arms around her and told her how much I really love her.
Satan is trying to take hold of you, please, don't let him. Reach out to God.
My dear friend, prayer and the Good Book, will help, as long as you really open up and listen for your answer. God will answer.
God be with you in your troubled times, now and forever.
I do love you, Juanita

NO I have not and I dare say neither have you or you wouldn't be reaching out to Christians on here. We all get ladened down with bad times, worries, sorrows, GOD is always there to lean on and he will carry your load if you only give your whole self to him. We can not have a wavering FAITH. We have to stand strong.
Read God's word, let him talk to you. and Through prayer you can talk to him.

Only True Christians have this privilege.

Read Hebrews 11th chapter. (Faith chapter of the N.T.)
