Self inflected blindness, If you don't open your mind you may as well not even open your eyes.

And how side "A" thinks Side "B" is so and Vice versa. When both have very valid points that aren't incompatable.

We're all endowed with intellect, some choose to use it, some choose not to use it, some other cannot use it. The more we use it the more we get to 'see', the less we use it, the less we 'see'. Among those who choose not to see, many make that choice because it's easier, some make it because they're forced to, then, there are those uncapable to make a choice since their intellect is not sufficient. I personally find all these cases very very sad...But, what can we do? We can't force people to see what they don't want to see, because 'preaching' is a prerogative of those with religious beliefs; we've no chains, no 'God' to follow and fear, and we don't feel compelled to convince anyone of anything, so, why bother?;)

I wouldn't say I'm closed-minded, but I will be the first person to admit that I am narrow-minded. I'm trying to be more open-minded, but I can only learn so many things at once and my own interests take priority.

I find it humorous how people come up with the silliest and most self-serving definitions of open/close mindedness. Basically if you try to live your life in accord with any sort of principle, you're close minded.

Yes, I see so much of the close mindedness and self-inflicted blindness here...on all sides. I do not find it humorous other than when one claims to be open minded and then proceeds to explain why they are not.

I also find that it gets on my nerves quicker than a jack rabbit chasing a bottle of water in the desert with a mouse trap clipped to its tail.

If your after-life depends on trusting just one true belief - only close-minded faithfulness will give you eternal life.

Don't waste your life searching all false or Satan induced Religions.

Only the religion where there is a creator God, and He offers Salvation through Obedience to Him can satisfy true seekers.

I tell you there is only one such True Religion in this Universe.

I don't really find it "humorous"...rather sad. When I was younger it made me mad but then I realized the futility of wasting energy on people who don't matter to me and can/will never change anyway.

Closed minds don't humor me but the eagerness to prove it and the pride in having them, yes.

What makes you think you open-minded people are so much better than us close-minded people? "Hey, everybody, look at me, I'm open-minded. Am I not great?" I think open-minded people are prejudiced against close-minded people!
