If your sis gets all or any portion of the any profit, then she should be the one caring for and housetraining the puppies. They are likely to be weaned at this age, and she should get them their first shots and get them wormed as well.
However, You are the legal owner, as owner of the mom, and the pups are yours, if you want them ..

If I am reading your question right, the person that has the mother dog is the one that generally cares for the puppies. For example; if you breed a female dog to someone else's dog, generally, you would pay for stud fees and when the pups are born, the male dog is completely out of the picture and so it is solely the responsibility of the female dogs owner to care, find homes, etc. Selling puppies at 8 weeks old, is perfectly okay if this is what you want to do.
With the overabundance of animals, I wish you well finding homes for your little ones. Best Wishes.

Whenever I hear someone use the term "bread" in the same sentence as "dog" ("pure bread Maltese", "bread my dog"), it makes me think "breaded and deep fried". Sorry. If you are allowing your dog to mate, you are BREEDING her.
The owner of the female dog is the one responsible for care, paying for the litter of puppies, and for finding homes. The owner of the female dog also "gets" to keep any money they make from the litter, since they did all the work. The owner of the female will pay the owner of the male a "stud fee" (or one of the puppies) for the privilege of breeding, but other than that, the owner of the male dog is not responsible for the litter.

The owner of the mom is the one that usually takes care of the puppies because they are still nursing. But if they are done, and your sister is getting all the money from when they are sold, then she should be responsible, at least financially, for taking care of them.
Good luck and Congrats on the puppies.
My god-mom bred dogs for over 20 years.

You are both responsible for taking care of those poor puppies until you find homes for them. There are so many homeless dogs in shelters all over the world and I think it's a shame that you felt that you had to bring more unwanted puppies into the world for monetary gain. That's despicable. If you take those puppies to the pound they will be killed and then you will have to live with that for the rest of your life. I get so angry when I think of people like you.

Ah. strong 'customers', eh? they could provide you with money, so as that they should be strong vendors, correct? They couldn't probable be crappy vendors who receives ill of attempting to housebreak the puppy, and stuff it in a cage all day and evening, or promote off it in a glance after. They couldn't probable be the shape who will breed the coronary heart out of them each and every warmth cycle, and want them for no different purpose. that they had money! that's the biggest component, correct? and that i merely recognize to procure references from vets and friends of those tremendous new vendors, and also you had them signal contracts declaring you'll take the domestic dogs decrease back for some thing else of their lives for ANY reason, no count number what. Oh yeah. that is what accountable breeders do! accountable breeders also do genetic testing so as that they produce healthy domestic dogs. and they recognize the classic for his or her breed. and they coach their dogs to coach high quality earlier breeding. you've a lot extra to benefit about being a breeder than merely how a lot you want to cost on your poorly bred domestic dogs.

You BRED your dogs not BREAD them. You have no buyers? I have people waiting before I even breed my dogs. Have you tried ads in the paper? Web sites like puppyfind.com and nextdaypets.com? Those are your best bets. Be willing to ship too will help.
You both are responsible for those pups because you went in on this together. Normally it would be whoever owns the dam would care for the pups, give vaccines, and sell. I hope you have gotten them their first shots!

I am a dog breeder. The breed registries AKC/UKC etc. consider the litter to belong to the owner of the female. Your dog may not be registered but you can use this to support your argument. Usually the male dogs owner charges a "stud" fee for the breeding which sometimes is money but we usually settle for pick of the litter. The rest belong to the female's owner.

Typically, the owner of the female that had the pups is classified as the litter owner.

I think you are both responsible for their care. But she must pay for the supplies you use for their care. Since she is going to make the profit, she should cover the expenses; but they need attention from both of you.
